Ina Schweitzer, Owner

My parents opened European Travel in July, 1978.  I began working in the office on a regular basis in 1980, while attending an ROP class through high school.  Through that class, I learned nearly every facet of the travel business, from reading airline tariff guides, to handwriting airline tickets, to negotiating the agent/client relationship.

In the office, my mother handled travel accounts, administration and the bookkeeping, my father hosted tour groups to South America and South Africa and I worked in the office part-time and hand-delivered airline tickets to UC Riverside accounts while working on my degree.  After graduation I joined my parents in the office, and although I tried to move and work elsewhere at some point, I was drawn to this business and made Travel and Tourism my career here in Riverside, in the family agency.

After 39 years of operating a storefront office, my mother decided to retire in March, 2017. We closed the office and I am continuing to run European Travel from my Home Office.

I enjoy traveling immensely, and did a lot of it with my father while growing up, however raising my sons while working full-time put my travel dreams on hold for a while.  With my sons grown up and both serving in the US Air Force, my husband Hansjorg and I travel as much as we can. We’ve extensively visited Europe, the U.S., Asia and the South Pacific and have so much more planned; I like to think that my love of travel is contagious to my clients!

Thank you for visiting my website--I hope to help you plan your vacation of a lifetime!

I was invited by one of our tour operators, Classic Vacations, to visit the new Capella Ixtapa Resort and Spa between the 20-23 October 2009.  It's a fabulous resort, and I hope these pictures do it justice.  I took my friend, Heike, with me, and we had a wonderful three days in the Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo area.  Enjoy!
